I have over 24 years of woodworking experience ranging from general carpentry to cabinet making. My training came from books and a lot of determination. In 1998, I became a professional woodworker and starting carving rocking horses and carousel art. The following year, I won a nationwide contest with the Smithsonian Postal Museum for the best rural mailbox (that was a kick!).

As much as I enjoyed carving, I continued to challenge myself to expand my knowledge of woodworking techniques. I bought a lathe in 2004. It wasn't long until I was making high end lamps with exotic, tropical hardwoods and fine inlay. After about a hundred lamps, I was ready for a new challenge.

When a client asled me to make a desk, I made that and then another desk and then a cabinet. Without realizing it initially, I had transitioned from lamps to furniture, which is where I am today. It will take a good ten years until I'm ready to move on to something else.

My business is named after my mother, Mary McKee. I wanted to honor her for a lifetime of memories.

Feathers in my Cap!

My unique, full-sized carved horse wowed both the judges and fellow woodworkers. This award-winning carving was featured on National Public Radio’s show All Things Considered .

In 2001, I carved a memorial for the 9/11 tragedy which was donated to the City and County of Honolulu. It now resides in the City Hall in Kapolei, Hawaii.

In 2007, I was featured on the Home and Garden Television's Show, "That's Clever!"
(episode 331)
